Olympic gold medalist Tessa Sanderson paid a flying visit to Ilkley to look round the eighth Yorkshire Artist's exhibition in the town's King's Hall. Tessa, who won the javelin event in Los Angeles was due to open the exhibition on Saturday but had to travel to Germany instead. On her return she was determined to visit the exhibition so she could thank the Yorkshire people for their support and to show them her Olympic medal. She also found time to give sculptor Stephen Hines of Leeds a helping hand with the sculpture he is working on at the exhibition. |
